Teelba State School is located 215 km from Dalby on the Teelba Road. The school is situated within the Teelba community alongside the Teelba Gun Club. Our closest town is Glenmorgan, which is 65 km away. The school was established in 1966 and services a farming community (beef and grain predominantly). Our school is serviced by twice weekly mail delivery.
Education in our small school is a unique environment where students from Kindy to Year 6 regularly interact in small and large group situations, within and across year levels, as they access the curriculum. Our school operates a 9 day fortnight. This involves our students attending school from 8.30 am to 3.15 pm nine days each fortnight and having every second Monday off school. Japanese lessons at our school are delivered by the Brisbane School of Distance Education.
In 2019 we offered a State Delivered Kindergarten service at our school for the first time and continue to offer SDK in the years following.
In 2014 we implemented a 1-to-1 digital touch-screen device program across the school for the first time. The 1-to-1 program enables the personalisation of student learning and facilitates the development of knowledge and skills necessary for the 21st century workforce, including digital-age literacy, innovative and creative thinking, effective communication and high productivity. The 1-to-1 program provides an engaging and interactive learning environment that gives students continuous access to educational materials so that learning can efficiently take place anywhere.
Our facilities include two classroom buildings; covered play areas; a covered tennis court, storage sheds, toilet block, oval, covered adventure playground and outdoor musical playground.
